And we were getting along so well.
The San’layn will trouble us no more since Silent Strike finally defeated their Blood Queen, Lana’thel last night. We then went on to revive the dreamer Valithria and rushed to face the frost dragon Sindragosa. We brought her to less than 35% health on our 3rd attempt and made great strides in learning the strategy. We are only 1 boss away from facing the Lich King himself.
Our current plan is to continue to extend our current raid lockout until Arthas is defeated. That means no badge runs and loot runs through Icecrown for those that might be interested, but please bear with us just a little longer. We’ve been working since May to finish this dungeon and dammit, we’re gonna do it! There will be plenty of time for loot runs before the Cataclysm. The plan may change based on Patch 4.0.1 as we may have to relearn a lot about our classes, but I wanted to give everyone forewarning about the current plan so you can make an informed decision as to whether to join the raids or not. At this point if you join the raid, you will be locked with 10 of 12 bosses down.
Congratulations Silent Strike on getting this far! Great work last night!

Long shrouded in mystery, the models for the Female Worgen have been revealed on the Beta servers. Here’s a video someone posted that shows the various customizations currently available. You’ll notice the human form in the background that changes with the wolf-form changes. It’s also recently come to light that Worgen will not have a race-specific mount, but instead will get a spell called Running Wild that will let the Worgen run on all fours as fast as a land mount.

So, according to reliable sources, we’re about 2 months away from Cataclysm, and if history tells us anything, we’re only about 2 weeks away from Patch 4.0.1 which will bring all the new UI and class changes. I’ve had the opportunity to spend some time on the Public Test Realm and seen the hunter and shaman changes first-hand. Personally, I’m really excited about the new class balance and while I feel like I have to learn to play a hunter all over again, I think the hunter is finally what a hunter should always have been. Pets are an integral part of the hunter damage for all the talent specs, and a bow/gun is now not something with limited resources depending on ammo.
The other big change is the switch from Emblems to a point system, and that leads me to the real point of my discussion. What do we do while we wait? From what I’ve seen on the PTR the Justice points (what Frost and Triumph emblems get converted to) are insufficient to buy higher level gear. So, if you want Frost gear, buy it ASAP before the patch, because the Justice Points you end up with will NOT be enough to buy the gear post-patch (unless they make a radical change). So for me, at least, doing random heroics and weekly raid quests are pointless. With the expansion so close, buying new gear is pretty pointless anyway.
I’d still very much like to complete Icecrown Citadel prior to Cataclysm, but due to some schedule changes from some of our key players, the Sunday/Monday schedule doesn’t work. I’m proposing we move to a Sunday / Friday Icecrown raid and skip the weekly altogether. We can try extending lockouts, and sticking to just Sunday, if that’s what you’d rather do.
I guess the question is…what do you want to do with the last 2 months while we wait for shiny newness?
