Congratulations Hammer Strike Alliance on defeating Infiltrator Johlen and Oracle Aleria! Defeated with only 16 people, Infiltrator Johlen finally succumbed to the power of Hammer Strike on Monday May 7. Shortly thereafter, in what we thought was “just a try to see what she does”, we one-shotted the Oracle and her 2 minions with no deaths.

Look out Prince Hylas! We’re coming for you!

Hammer Strike Alliance 4/4 Drowned Halls!

In a spur-of-the-moment raid, the Hammer Strike alliance finally defeated Akylios’ minion High Priestess Hydriss after clearing out all her other friends in Drowned Halls Tuesday night. Congrats to all!

Rift Patch 1.8 – Infernal Dawn

It’s here! The latest patch for Rift arrives today and along with it a brand new 20-man raid and some other great features to the game!

Some of the highlights include:

Infernal Dawn – new 20 man raid where raiders get to battle the dragons from Plane of Earth – Laethys & Plane of Fire – Maelforge
New World Event
New Instant Adventures on Ember Isle
2 new trade skills that you can learn in addition to the current ones – Fishing and Survival
New Guild Finder – to help us recruit more friends to share our adventures
New crafted item slot – Seals

Some other features that you might be interested in are the ability to process stacks of 20 raw materials (so you can turn 20 hides into 20 pieces of leather with one click, yay!). This will work for ore, cloth, leather and wood. You can now buy your faster mount for 25 plat at level 25 (instead of at level 30). They also made some soul/calling updates and improvements.

In addition to a new Raid, instant adventures on Ember Isle, Fishing & Survival, Rift patch 1.8 will include a new Looking For Guild feature. It seems to be a very user friendly system that will help us in our recruiting efforts even if there isn’t an officer currently online. It’d be great to have enough people to do 10-man content on our own so we can do 20-man content with the Hammer Strike alliance. You can check out what we know so far at TerRIFTtic

Congratulations to the Hammer Strike Raiding Alliance on the first kill in a 20-man Raid! Duke Letareus, the first boss in Greenscale’s Blight died to 18 players from the Hammerfist Clan and Silent Strike last night. The Alliance has already progressed through 3 of the 4 bosses in Drowned Halls, with only High Priestess Hydriss left to die. We encourage as many people to sign up for Monday Night raids as possible, so that we can continue through Greenscale’s Blight. Raids start at 6pm Server time (8pm CST, 9pm EST) and run until 8pm server time.

Don’t forget to sign up for our once-monthly Saturday night raid, the first of which will be March 24. We’ll start at 6pm server time and raid till we can’t stay awake anymore!

Get Ready for the Carnival

In celebration of Rift’s One Year Anniversary we shall soon see a massive new world event appear on the servers. We’re expecting the Carnival of the Ascended to show up March 29th (or thereabouts). The Carnival features of course, a carnival, with ring toss and racing games, and lots of fun new prizes including new masks, elemental dragon balloons, and 2 beautiful new mounts! There will be daily and weekly quests for the world event which has 6 phases leading up to the opening of a new 20-man raid in Patch 1.8.

**UPDATE** – The first phase of Carnival festivities has begun. Look for a Balloon icon on your zone map (it doesn’t show on world maps) and find Piñatas that drop Glass Beads as well as other random items. Once the carnival games start, you will be able to trade glass beads for previous world event currency to buy those items you might have missed.
