While we’re still gearing up for Cataclysm raiding, I figured we needed a little guild togetherness and fun. With patch 4.0 Blizzard implemented the ability to play War Games. We can take groups, even of the same faction into arenas and/or battlegrounds and play purely for fun. There’s no experience, honor points or any other rewards associated with war games.
We’ll be scheduling our first war games for Sunday February 13th at 8pm. This round will be for level 85 members. We will try for Warsong Gulch, and if we have more than 10 people, we’ll do Arathi Basin. The beauty of war games is we don’t need the max number of players, so even 3 vs. 3 is possible. We will attempt to create balanced groups with one tank and one healer, but groups will be formed through random rolls. If the event is a success, we may schedule more and maybe even do some for the lower level players.
Whether you have PVP experience or not, we encourage you to join in the fun. Player battles give everyone the chance to use all their skills and will help train for Cataclysm raids by practicing damage avoidance and interrupts and crowd control abilities.
The War Games are intended purely for FUN. Please don’t sign up if you can’t come with a positive attitude and a willingness to die repeatedly to your guildmates. Sore losers and overly gloating winners will be booted from the games. This isn’t about winning or losing, but playing the game and doing something as a guild.
